When you are on the reply page, it is often helpful to refer back to the conversation so you can remember specific details or see who raised a certain point.

To do this, simply scroll down to the bottom of the page, and you will see a link titled, ‘THREAD REVIEW’. Click this, and the last ten posts will appear.

If you have made five or fewer posts, you are designated as ‘shy’. Don’t worry though - you are still a valued member, and you can easily shed your ‘shy’ status. Here are some ideas for getting rid of your designation and becoming a full member:

1) Introduce yourself in our introductions forum
2) Fill out your profile
3) Post some new topics (you might even win a prize!)
4) Reply to some existing topics with your thoughts and opinions

Changing font styles

To add some originality to your posts, you are able to do the following:

Emphasise words in bold
Emphasise words in italics
Emphasise words by underlining them

You are also able to change the size of your text, as well as the colour.

To change the style of your text, follow the directions below:

1) Always use ‘Post Reply’ rather than ‘Fast Reply’ when posting on an existing thread
2) Write out your full post as normal
3) Highlight the words you wish to change the styling for by dragging your mouse cursor over them
4) Click the relevant styling button, or select your font size and colour from the drop down list
5) When you are done, submit your post!

Quoting the posts of other members

When responding to a post made by a member, it can be extremely helpful to quote the specific post or point you are addressing - particularly if you are replying to a member other than the thread starter.

To quote a post, do not click the ‘Reply’ or ‘Fast Reply’ button. Instead, click the ‘Quote’ link that appears underneath the post you wish to quote. You can then edit the quote to only include the point you wish to address.

Editing your profile

Whenever someone clicks on your username, they are taken to your profile. Your profile contains additional information about you and is publicly available. You should not therefore, reveal any personal information such as your address or phone number.

A signature is a small amount of text that appears under every post you make in the forums. Signatures cannot contain promotional material, advertising or images.

How to ignore members

In any community you will come across members that you don’t see eye to eye with. Our site guidelines do not allow you to argue or be abusive towards members that you do not like. Indeed, any breach of our site guidelines can result in your account being suspended.

If you want to ignore a member because they are being abusive, offensive, or otherwise breaking our site guidelines, please report their posts or contact us.

If you simply do not want to see posts made by specific members, you can simply click the ‘Ignore’ link that appears on the right hand side of every post made by that member.

You can consequently edit your ‘Ignore List’ from your control panel. Simply click the ‘My Profile’ link at the top of the page, or on the ‘Member Control Panel’ link in the top right corner, above the search box. Once you are in your control panel, click on ‘Manage Ignore List’ on the left and add or remove members as you wish.

How to report inappropriate posts

Content submitted to these forums appears instantaneously. Therefore, from time to time offensive or undesirable content may be posted. If you come across such content, please report the posts to us so we can investigate. Do not get involved in the thread or discussion - report the post to us and forget about it.

You can report posts to us by clicking the ‘Report’ link that appears on the right hand side of every post.
