The best bit about being a mum?

1) The birth of your baby.
2) The first time your little one says “mamma”.
3) The first wet slobbery kiss.
4) Their first steps.
5) Buying their first pair of shoes.
6) The first time they try and feed themselves and more goes on the floor than in their mouths. LOL
7) The first time they say “I love you mummy”
8) Their first day at school all dressed in their new uniform.
9) The first time baby sleeps through the night.
10) The first mothers day/birthday card they make you.

Now the worst bits.

1) Dealing with moody hormonal teenage daughters. mad
2) Having to pick up their washing off of the floor all the time.
3) The first time the moody teenager stomps off upstairs in a huff and slams the doors.
4) The first time they back chat you.
5) When they refuse to eat the dinner you,ve made even though you know it,s something they like.
6) When they refuse to get up in the morning and you have to nag.
7) When they leave wet towels all over the bathroom floor.
8) When they don,t ring you to let you know what time they,ll be coming home.
9) When they forget to do their homework and you have to rush around like a blue arsed fly helping them do it before they go to school. mad
10) When you discover they need their PE kit and it,s still in the wash because they couldn,t be bothered to take it out of the bag and put it in the wash. Then of course it,s your fault. mad

What are your best and worst bits about being a parent? I hope all this doesn,t put you off having kids Martin. LOL

I have some bits besides Souxi’s.

The best bits:
1) The first time he gave me a hug
2) The first time he can go to bed himself
3) The first time he cut the birthday cake by himself
4) He said” Mum, I want to be with you all the time.”
5) He told me,” Mum, I will be sad if you got old.”
6) He can share his toys with other babies first time.
7) He said, “ Mum, i am a man, i will protect you.”
8) The first day he went to the kindergarten and told me he makes friends there.
9) He wiped my tears away while I am crying.
10) He says “ I enjoy a good day “ when I take him out.

The worst bits:
1) He says, “Leave me alone”, although he is only 3 years old.
2) He cries and because I asked him to drink the bitter Chinese medicine.
3) He says “no, I don’t want to be in kindergarten.” while I am worried about missing the bus and getting later for my job.

Too many bits I think, but I can’t remember right now.

Just to be different…

The best bits…
When they left home LOL
When I was able to invite them back home for dinner and they offered to do the dishes.  LOL
When I was able to visit them in their homes.
When they ran out of clean clothes I didn’t know and it wasn’t my fault.
When there is no more homework.
When their partners felt like family.

The worst bits…
When they left home long face
When dinner for two became the norm long face
Visiting them in their homes and knowing it is their home.
Knowing they’re out of clean clothes and its not your fault LOL
Having no ‘special’ time at homework time.
When their partners felt uncomfortable.

Some more best bits.

When they see the Christmas tree all lit up.
When they just know you’ve got presents hidden somewhere.
When it’s nearly end of term and time for Christmas Holidays.
Their little faces on Christmas Day.
Seeing them fast asleep all content and warm and safe at the end of the day.

A few more worst bits.

Constant bickering.  mad
Whinging about going to bed.
Taking ages to get up in the morning for school.
Going off a food they previously liked.
Moaning about what you cook for tea.

Love that one too Souxi - “Seeing them fast asleep all content and warm and safe at the end of the day.”

Worst:

Tantrums!!

Had the kids over for a week after xmas and boy we sank our teeth into the ‘terrible twos’ tantrum throwing and it took two days of consistency and being strong to turn that around!Sometimes it’s easier to give in but we got through it and the tanties stopped, thank goodness!!
