When you fancy a snack between meals what do you have? Are you inclined to reach for the tin of biscuits, or do you generally opt for a healthier choice such as fruit or yogurt?

I have a fridge full of mullerlight rice with apple to snack on during the day. They are absolutly delicious. They do other flavours but I’m partial to the apple flavour. Low in fat and calories, they really fill you up.

If I’m having a cup of tea or coffee or my favourite cadburys highlights, I’ll sometimes have a ginger nut biccie. They are soooooooo nice but I’m really trying not to have so many and stick to the healthier options instead.

What about you, what do you snack on?

well...in my country, something fried is very popular. we call it “Gorengan”. I think asian use oil too much in their food, they like to fried everything which is not healthy at all, but bcoz it’s being a costum and habit here, we just ignore that healthy food choice that might we have.

Depends if I’m being good or not!  I like to snack on crisps, chocolate and other bad stuff, but currently I’m trying not to snack too much and when I do (mainly in work mid-morning and mid-afternoon, as I get hungry then) I try to have something healthy.  At the moment, it’s savoury rice cakes which are only 27 calories each, and are very tasty.

Hmm I don’t really snack that much to be honest. Unless I have a big meal for lunch I tend to spread my lunch out. When I’m at work, lunch is usually sandwiches, some type of cake and a couple of pieces of frui. I’ll start eating this around 10:30 and finish around 2pm. This means I don’t feel the need to snack much.

My favourite snack is apples - I can get through about four of them every day but it gets a little expensive so I try to limit myself to two per day.

My worst snack is dried sausage (like hot salami) and cheese. I only got into this since moving to the US and there is no way any part of that snack can be good for me!

Are apples very expensive in the States then Martin? Over here you can get a bag of tesco value apples for less than a quid. I love salami. My brother makes this gorgeous snack with onions and hot chilli sauce wrapped in a piece of salami. yum.

this has always been my down fall, snacking to me has always ment a pk of crisps or a chocolate bar or 2. Not recommended!

now, i try not to snack, and if i do-its usually a bananna, the craving has to be particually bad for a pk of crisps now, but if i do theyre either the baked ones with 90 calories or the Boots Shapers crisps at 70 calories.

Snacking is also my downfall, definitely. I’m trying to snack more on fruits now, or have a glass of water/tea/coffee/flavoured tea. I’m trying to decrease the amount of coffee I drink (because its too much at the moment, I’m a total sucker for a late). I’ve been starting to drink my flavoured tea which is good. The lack of milk in that makes up for the milk I have in my coffee. lol.

My other weaknesses, Uhm… Lots, i tend to get little rampages and look for anything (/blush). But I’m trying to figure out what is triggering it and I am then going to look at the issue then. smile
