Hi CDKal,

I don’t think you need to change your appearance just so that your are accepted as a Beautician. I have seen lots of male beauticians before and they look pretty normal. If you want to pierce your ears go ahead. Although I don’t think a woman will think of you differently with our without ear piercings.

I think women at a Beautician place is more interested in the conversation and the personality of the person.

Personally I think it is absolutely fine to have a male beautician who pains nails and does make up. smile.

I certainly wouldn’t see this as a problem, why not? I don’t think you would need to change your appearance for this either your look is part of who you are. If you have the right personality to fit in then you should go for it.

so are you thinking of taking a course to be a beautician?

One think I have noticed is that many of the top womens hair stylist where I live tend to be male that seems to be more accepted than ever.

Good luck

Well dear, you don’t have to pierce your ears if you really don’t want to and besides, that wouldn’t be of much help when you’re doing your thing with them make up brushes and hair dryer. However, you better look the part if you want to get into the beauty business. Keep up to date with fashion trends but be sure to be tasteful about your clothing choices. You can also opt for a signature look or piece that will be remembered by your customers.
