I have decided to move house again, I have lived where I am for 22 months now and will be sad to leave as this place really feels like home.

Not sure why I feel so sad as it’s rented, if anything I really tried to make this place nice; I put down flooring and redecorated yet all of this I can do again.

After a bit of looking I finally found a nice place today, the house size and shape is same as where I am now and with the same features such as double glazing central heating alarm ect, the area seems alright, the neighbors seem nice. The oddest thing is its a full £200 less a month which is a real difference when your saving up for a own home deposit. At first I figured there had to be something wrong with the house but on closer inspection all rented houses seem to be way more affordable now, yet my current landlord talks of putting up the rent, crazy grrr

At the same time as nice as the house is my intuition just says no and I cant think why I feel this way, perhaps it’s just my attachment to where I am now.

Has anyone else noticed a dip in rented property, do you also get attached to your home like this or can you just up and leave quite easily?

How do you know when you have found the right place to live?

I know exactly what you mean Kerry. I’ve had to move 3 times (South Africa - Switzerland - france and now in the UK). The place I was saddest to leave was France. It was a beautiful house that my parents had and I really felt at home. At the moment I am living with my OH with his parents. I can’t wait to have my own place here in the UK. I think that rent has definitely come down a lot. I’m hopefully going to look for a place once I get a job and pay it by myself. smile. It will be such an accomplishment for me.

Have you asked some people around the area how it is generally? Perhaps ask the next town how the area is as well. That usually gives a good idea about what the area is like. Are you moving very far away from your current place?

Awww i know what you mean, i think you get attached to most places you live in. I know that when my husband and i leave this house i’ll be excited to be in our new one, esp as it will our 1st new project together (as i never chose this house) but still...im sure on the day the house is empty and im going around with the hoover i’ll look at the kitchen we choose together and the conservatory, the new bathroom and the new fireplace and carpets and the hard work that went into it and feel a little sad, it was also where we spent our early days dating so lots of memories in that respect.

But we all move on and in your case it will help you buy a home of your own with cheaper rent, you’ll settle down x

You know that really puts things into perspective, I live in a city, the same city and I always have; so no move could really be quite as life changing. We really are only just moving from the west to central which is where I had always wanted to be anyway. I think the rent prices where I am are linked to all the good local schools in the area.

I had been hoping to leave this city when my OH graduated but he got head hunted and choose to stay put. In the past 8 years I have moved 6 times this will be the 7th, all rented of course but this has been the first house I have felt all round happy regardless of how much I want to leave Hull.

Cat I know from what your other posts how much it means to you to have your own joint home with your husband and what you say is really sad about going round with your hover, I would be like that I probably will, of all things to leave behind good memories are the hardest. But you are right this is a step to the future.

OH thats such a shame. I hate it when that happens, you begin to imagine yourself there etc. Hope its happened for a reason, it usually does!

I had decking in the back garden, new wood floor, a rosy wine color and cream on the walls; it all looked so lovely in my head downer .

The plus point with this new house it its’ right next door to the local fitness center with pool and gym and while it may not the flashiest gym in town it sure eliminates a reason not to go.

Well that was a let down, for a start the website gave the wrong price its actually more expensive per month than where I am now and not in as good condition either, defiantly needed lots of work.

There was something eerie about the place too but perhaps I was just being daft!

Oh Kerry :( Its horrible when a nice house slips away under your nose like that. Thats happened so many times with my OH’s mother.

But like Cat says it must be for a reason. My parents use to say to me when they were looking for a house to take their time. Be patient, its not something you want to rush in. I mean if you think about, its somewhere you will have to live and you don’t want to rush in smile.

Keep your eyes open and your hopes up smile. I’m sure you’ll find somewhere smile.
