I am a member of another forum, and tend to post there most days.

Is this the only forum you are a member of or do you frequent others?

Today, I’ve popped in here but I don’t regularly because I find I’m spending enough time on the computer as it is.

How’s about you?

Well apart from popping in here, I am also a member of VisaJourney.com - it was a valuable resource for me during the immigration process of moving from the UK to the USA.

What makes you post at the other forum you’re a member of? Perhaps we can make Female Forum just as attractive!

Interesting question Martin.

Difficult to put in words.

But I’ll give it a go.

It feels like a community. We hold Supperclubs, Meets, Bookclubs, walking clubs.

We have a lot of laughs, and its very easy to move around in.

Its only for women and some of us have become very good friends without even meeting.

We’ll get there in the end, Sammy wink

As Female Forum gets stronger, I’d love to start up a book club - I know there are already quite a few avid readers here. As for simplicity and ease of use, this is one of my main priorities for Female Forum and I want members to tell me whenever they come across something they feel can be made easier or more logical.

not any more! I’ve been a member of several over the years, mostly music or sci-fi. I’ve even been the administrator of a couple, which I handed over when I left Uni as they were for Uni societies I was involved in. I visit the SFX (as in the SFX magazine) forum about once a month just to get book recommendations but that’s about it.

martin - great idea on the book club. I’d do it. What about a film night - we all hire/buy etc the same film and watch it on the same night and post while we watch. would need organising but could work, I’ve seen similar things done elsewhere

Sounds like a great idea - I’ll add that to the list. All very exciting!!

I would defiantly be interested in this particularly a book club I don’t read anywhere near as much as I would like too.

I am a member of one other forum - its a fish keeping forum. I only pop in there every now and again and I mainly read rather than do any posting. Just to keep up with the hobby itself.

I love the idea of a bookclub and movieclub!!!! I don’t know that I’d be able to keep up with any reading of particular books though cause when I have time to read its non-fiction for research. It took me a year to read The Margarets which was a book I loved LOL. But we do take time out to watch movies! and I certainly give the bookclub a go!

I am right into having indepth discussions on things though cause I don’t get the opportunity to do that in person. So discussing movies etc would be right down my alley!!!  grin

A book club..... sounds real fun to me.
I love reading but don’t always get time.
I set myself an aim this year to read 52 books. I’ve read 40 books so far, by 31st it should be 42.
Would it possible to create a section on its own for reading books and gardening tips etc? That way we wouldn’t need to plough our way through lots of discussions in this section to find the sujects we are looking for?
I’m into writing as well and am planning to actually write a book next year, been thinking for years I shall write a book so next year will be my year to do it.

I post here as well as on a chat forum based in the Netherlands and a dog forum for owners breeder ect loads of expert doggy advice for free!

I found this place after I left a forum which I had been a member of for 5 years.  Recently they started allowing really bad abusive posts and replies to go unchecked, I thought I would miss it as it was lively and chatty but actually it was only seeing this thread that I even thought about it..

This is a brilliant place!

Thanks for the suggestions, Potty - we are actually thinking about having a book reading section; I think we need a few more people to express a firm interest (and commitment) to suggesting (and then reading!) the books. Once that happens, I think we can give it a try.

Cassandra - this place is only brilliant because we have brilliant members.

I’m a member of about 6 other forums. One I post on fairly regularly, others once in a blue moon. Of course I post on here the most. wink
