Hmmm… that’s a tough one. Prune juice usually does it. Are there such things as baby laxatives? I would advice calling your doctor, because I’m not really sure.

Hmmm.. do you have prunes that she could actually eat?

I would ask the doctor for something to help soften up her poo while she’s struggling to go because if she knows it’s going to hurt she might be holding it in aswell. Poor girly! Hope she’s relieved soon!

Just an afterthought, Aren’t banana’s good for things like this?

Prune juice will help but long term you have to look at her diet as well. Fluids ie: enough water also make a difference.  Could there be a medical reason? , some people do get constipated regularly thats one question only your doctor can answer.

I would pop her down to the doctor, after all she is only 8 months and better to be safe than sorry
good luck.

My eldest used to suffer terribly with this. My doctor advised putting half a teaspoon of brown sugar in well diluted juice for a couple of days. It worked. If it doesn’t get any better after a couple of days, take her to see the doctor, and as someone else said, watch their diet. Make sure they have fruit at least 3 times a day, (babies love bananas and they can easily grip them in their little hands) and make sure they have water too, not just juice.

Let us know how she gets on.
