We had a stupid amount of snow in Yorkshire. I’ve not seen the ground for about a month.

Luckily, it’s been raining recently and slowly but surely the snow (and DEADLY ice) is being wahed away.

Goodbye snow, thee shall not be missed. I loved you before this winter, but this relationship has run it’s course and you most certainly won’t be missed.

Might have to resurrect this thread - we’re expecting over a foot of snow to fall in NYC tomorrow. They’ve already announced that all schools will be closed tomorrow, and it’s only 1pm!

Stay tuned!

It does start to get a bit tiresome and depressing, but it should soon be over (I Hope)we are supposed to get a bit of snow tonite and tomorrow, hopefully it won’t amount to much.February and March can be bad months here, this is when we tend to get most of our snow.Hang in there Cassandra,we will soon be complaining about the heat and the bugs....

I reckon we’ve had about 5 inches so far and it’s now 1.30pm and the worst is yet to come. It’s like a blizzard out there right now.

Well that was all a big let down. The media were dubbing it ‘snowmageddon’ - it was nothing. The snow pretty much stopped by around 5/6pm and it has all pretty much melted by the end of the following day.

I want my money back! Wait....

Well from what I saw on the news, it looked pretty bad in Washington DC. I expect some of it will come our way. Like Kamille says, when the weather is bad in the States, we usually get the tail end of it all.

It never stops here. I live in the city of Pittsburgh and there is nowhere to park your car. All the cars are still snowed in and the ones who shovel their cars out can’t get back into their spots because plows come and cover the spot with snow. Our mayor has gone missing so major decisions on what to do with all the snow have been put on hold for going on 3 weeks now. But on the bright side, it is very pretty.

LOVE the picture - thanks for sharing! I think the snow looks beautiful, too. I heard someone say that snow makes everything look depressing and sterile and just couldn’t understand where they were coming from.

Each to their own, though!

Martin,

Old Man Winter isn’t finished in the New England area either.  It is snowing outside my window right now--a wintry mix with little accumulation today and into tomorrow.

I live in New Brunswick, Canada.  Snow is just a normal occurance here.  However, this winter has been awesome!  We actually only had 6 snow storms over the winter.  Last winter was terrible.  We had one snow storm where we had 50 cm of snow!

I it is really annoying.  I had loads of gardening done in the autumn, and the snow, beautiful though it was has destroyed many of the new plants that were put in.  The snow lasted so long, came back so often, and the temperature was so low, they didn’t stand a chance.
