Ive coloured my hair for years first for fun and now to hide the grey thats coming through..
Today I noticed a new warning on the box, after the standard… hair colourings can cause allergic reactions it said tattoos can increase the risk of an allergic reaction..
Ive never seen this before ..but..
I wear household gloves for ‘wet’ work,, recently though I cleaned windows without them and noticed my tat was raised and itchy for an hour or so after..
I guessed it was a reaction to the cleaning stuff, Im sensitive to loads of things anyway but this warning is new to me..
Anyone???

I’ve been there ,about 20 some years ago I too colored my hair just for fun,at that time the instructions on the box said to do a patch test on your wrist, wait 24 hours if no reaction it was ok to use, well I had no reaction after the 24 hours so I went ahead and colored my hair. The following day however my wrist and half way to my elbow was severely swollen and itchy. The following day my head was extremely itchy and swollen, off to the drug store I went to buy something for the itchy skin and allergic reaction,I literally lived in the bathtub for 2 weeks because that was the only relief I could seem to get was soaking in this oatmeal gunk.It was a living hell....I’d been several times to the doctor and tried different medications but nothing seemed to help,by that time my head was swollen just like a pumpkin and I had these god awful blisters. The end result was I passed out on the sofa,my daughter called my husband at work because she couldn’t wake me up, they got me to the doctors office and I was immediately transfered over to the hospital emergency room,I almost died, my blood pressure was extremely low,and I went into aniphalitic shock,I was there for a week on intravenous steroids and cortisone. The hair color had gone right into my blood stream. When I got out I had to have my hair cut because the coloring had dried it out so bad it was like trying to sleep(of which I was getting very little of)on a bag of leaves.I saw a specialist after that, spent a small fortune in medications and was warned to never dye my hair again,he said all the crap that goes into hair coloring would blow your mind. That was my first and only experience with hair coloring,So now today I am au natural,(grey)I find alot of things bother my skin even today, and although I would like to get a tatoo I don’t think I would risk it,I most likely be allergic to the ink.

Ooo i dont have that, but i must admit theres nothng much i can do with the blepharitis on my eyelids, the only thing i can put on them which helps with the dryness is olive oil, that causes no reactions what so ever.

I had a reaction once when I attempted to do this task on my own. I’m not sure though the cause. It could have been something in the product or the brand itself. However, since I started to go with this process professionally, I haven’t had any issues. It costs a little bit to go about every 2 months, but it’s well worth it to have my hair feeling and looking healthy. Also, I deserve to splurge on myself come the time my roots are ready for their touch up, right?! We all do!! lol

My stylist is actually going to be using a new product during my next visit in about 2 weeks. I may even change my color entirely lol, idk yet. I’ll let you know the product and how it works out after my visit wink
