Hiya - I am 11 weeks pregnant and have been diagonised with UTI .. urinary infection .. i am done with my treatment of antibiotics and I have had another urine test done . But I am still waiting for the results which will take another 7 - 10 days .

I am wondering if I am still having the infection and this would have an adverse affect on my unborn :(

Please help .. I know I ll have a sleepless night until I know I have not done any irreplacable damage to my unborn :(

Hi Flame, I think it is a fairly common thing to have a urinary infection while pregnant,my daughter-inlaw had this a couple of times while expecting. It can be pretty painful, she thought she was going into labor. She went to her doctor, and was treated with antibiotics as well. The baby was fine. You know there is a pretty good website,it even has a section on urinary tract infections,it might be able to answer a lot of your questions and put your mind at ease.Take it easy. grin

It sounds like you’ve been under the care of a doctor - don’t be afraid to ask your doctor questions like this! That’s what they are there for! smile

Assuming your doctor knows that you are pregnant, I think he or she would have taken that into account when prescribing antibiotics and informed you of any risks. So if it were me, I wouldn’t stress about it, but I would probably find out for sure at my next appointment.

By the way, congratulations!
