I would say that I have slightly more female friends than male ones, but I have a couple of friends and I am pretty much their only girl friend as they find they get on better with guys. Do you find this strange? Are most of your friends male or female? Why do you think some women get on better with men than they do with people of their own sex?

Most of my friends are male, but I work in a male-orientated environment so it’s to be expected. (around 5 men for every female)

Last time I went ‘on the town’ it was me and 6 guys partying - luckily my OH isn’t the jealous type LOL

I do have one or two close female friends, because there’s just some things you can’t talk to blokes about! LOL

I would say, it’s in balance… I have many female friends, but the better friends for me are male. Friendships with men are more harmonious, more intimate and simply easier - as long as they are singles. Wives don’t like me, for whatever reasons. They are mostly jealous and bitchy. Unfortunately! Why do women behave thus? Am I dangerous as the best friend of their men? It’s a real shame and makes me sad… downer

Interesting subject. I’ve always got on better with guys than girls, and even now most of my friends are male, something which my husband took a lot of time to get used to. I don’t know what it is about girls but I really struggle to make friends with them. I’m not the world’s most self-confident person anyway, and I just find girls particularly in groups to be quite intimidating. There’s so many ‘girl activities’ I just don’t really get into, and I think that other girls will judge me and think badly of me because I don’t like spending hours shopping for shoes or wear much makeup or like gossiping, or because I do like computers and sci-fi and so on. That’s actually the main reason i joined this site: to try and make friends with more girls smile

Hiya Mookie, I love the girlie things, when I’m in the mood.  Frequently I’m not though.  I hate shopping at Christmas time, that is in the 4 months before Christmas Eve!!

I think I’m probably more friendly with women, but get on OK with men, my hubby is my best friend, except when he’s in the dog house.

I think thats quite common for a girl to have more male friends, many find theres too much compeition or bitchiness with a group of girls so i can understand the want for male friends, although sometimes i do question whether some people can have friends of the opposite sex without more ‘underlying thoughts’.

i also have more male friends. I like that their kinda simple minded ya know...they actually say what they mean. And for the most part, theres not any drama with them. I have a couple girl friends, but I just get along better with guys.I dont feel like I have to compete with anyone, and can just be myself.
