I,m really posting this on behalf of poor old Dawny, who has had the most horrendous few days suffering from migraine.

Does anyone know of anything she could take that actually works? It would appear that she,s tried everything, but something has to help surely? She can,t take anything with codine in it though she said.

The thought of having to go to bed and lay there and cry until it goes is just awful. Poor old Dawny.

I,ve never suffered with migrianes, only bad headaches. She has had a spectacular light show to go with it apparantly.

((((((Dawny)))))

Thing is, in the beginning we didn’t know what these headaches was.

I woke up in excruciating pain. After 2 days of taking Tramadol (I take them for my back) I went to my doc, she gave me other painkillers, and then gave me more and more. She sent me to hospital, had CAT scan, seen neurologist, he was useless! Really peeed of that he had to come down from Edinburgh to the Borders to see me as our hospital don’t have one.

By last November, I was hooked up on that much medication it was causing rebound headaches. A doc at the hospital, took me off all medication. Had nothing for the pain for 5 weeks. I swear I near went insane.

My husband took me for Acupuncture, he was going mad trying to do anything he could to help me, he felt utterly useless. My heart broke for him downer

After I came of all the analgesic medicine, I started on the Triptans and the preventatives. These haven’t cured me, but have made things slightly more tolerable.

I have chronic daily Migraine, Cluster headaches and Muscle tension Headaches. Pretty miserable really!

I have heard before that sometimes its something a chiropractic can fix. Other then that I know my one friend switched birth controls to yaz and that helped her and my mom just deals with them with ibprohpen and cold packs on her eyes. If possible the best things to do is find the cause. I know somepeople get them from caffiene. I feel you on the muscle tension head aches they are b**** for those I just do cold rags in a dark room with advil. Good Luck!!

Been to a Chriopractor, had Craniosacral therapy, Theraputic Massage, Accupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Relaxation, Reflexology, Reiki

Tried so many things and its cost an absolute fortune!
Some gave some relief, some nothing, either way, we cant afford to keep throwing money on this thing

So annoying

Sorry to hear about your migraines, Dawny - they sound awful :(

We just published an article about migraines - hopefully it may help, although I am sure you have been given plenty of advice and information before!
