@spinningjen I love family photos too I have lots including a whole set of old black and white ones of parents grandparents and great grandparents.
This one was such a wow moment for us though, we were walking at a nature reserve when Murphy started to growl.. He never does that when we are out so OH and I stared into the mist and this figure appeared on a pont..totally silent, no greeting, no motor, he just floated past. To be honest all I could think about was the madness song Last boat to Cairo .. which is not calm at all!March 6, 2019 at 8:08 am #199877
Spooky Cassandra! That Madness track is one that I enjoy. It is prompting me to hunt out the Madness CD I have. I have not listened to it for some time. Thank you x

Selfie from earlier today … got a new camera! I had an important video conference call for work, I was trying to look my best.
How do you feel when someone says “You look better without makeup”?
Myself, I feel unhappy … I spent a lot of time on my appearance and I thought I looked good until someone tells me that.May 23, 2019 at 6:28 am #201422
Lovely photo Mamie.
I tend to take the view that type of comment means that they think you have overdone the makeup. I take it as a bit of a compliment really in that I don’t need makeup to look good. In my opinion you look good with the makeup, but would look good without it too. Rather than use it all the time, I prefer to vary things quite a bit, although mostly I use some when going out for skin protection as much as looking good. Maybe a lot tepends on the general trend in the circles you are socialising / working in too.June 10, 2019 at 6:41 pm #201883
Thanks Jen – I do agree they probably mean it as a compliment, but I don’t often feel that way. When I’ve spent some time with my makeup and such, and I feel like I look good, and then someone tells me “You’d look better if … ” I find it’s just deflating, you know what I mean? They don’t seem to understand how when I look in a mirror, I see every tiny little imperfection and flaw as if it’s jumping out and slapping me in my face, and when I cover that up I just feel so much more confident.
I’ve been getting sunblinded a lot lately, and I picked up a new pair of sunglasses for driving.June 11, 2019 at 6:43 am #201893
No chance of sunblind here this week as we seem to be in the monsoon season at the moment. I don’t think I will get out for a good walk this week. The first time since Christmas. That is a more natural shot of you Mamie. It has a nice ‘fresh air’ look about it.
