I been having pain since the beginning of the year. Last october I fell while walking in the forest and then in Jan somone put a wire loop across the pavement and I fell again.

Since then Ive had pain in my hips /upper thighs and my right foot. My foot was xrayed and the doc said its athrose but not bad enough to be causing the pains.

Now hes taken a shed load of bloods and asked if I take any vitamins or other herbal cures at home. I do take a multivitamin once a day and hes said I have to stop. Apperently my diet is good enough and the vitamin tablet is pushing me into the red zone on some of the vitamins and minerals.

He seems to think this may be causing some of the pain and stiffness Ive been having. Lets hope hes right because the alternatives are not fun at all. Nice too hear that my diets is good though, I love my fruit and veg I just hope he doesnt say I have to stop eating them too!

Wire loop? That sounds nasty Cassandra. People sometimes do such stupid things! I hope you soon get to the root of the pain although with these sort of things from accidents it often is not obvious and takes months or more to heal completely. I fell and hit my face several years ago now and still some pain occasionally returns.

I know that some vitamins do accumulate whereas others are passed through fairly quickly so are seldom a problem. I think vitamin C is not a problem but vitamin A can cause all sorts of issues and pain. I do hope he is right!

Thanks @spinningjen  I have to go to hospital next week anyway for dental surgery I developed a swelling above the front tooth where I hit my face, this has turned out to be infected and even though my regualr dentist cleaned and drained it the swelling has returned so I have to see the specialist. My dentist said that the fall was most likely the trigger for this loosening my tooth and allowing bacteria in.

Its amazing how an incident lasting just a couple of seconds can lead to months of discomfort and treatment.Id love to know what idiot did it and give them a piece of my mind.

Luckily it was me who fell and not a vunerable elderly or pregnant woman,  the damage could have been so much worse.

I am sorry to hear of your accident, cassandra. I’m afraid I have no advice, but it is good you’re being treated for your injuries.

    Take care, lovely.

Ive had my surgery uncomfortable but not nearly as bad as I expected mainly due to a very nice dental surgeon who explained everything step by step and constantly talked to me as he worked explaining each noise and each step as he went.

I have a mouth full of stiches right now so Im eating soft food but in 10 days or so it should all be healed up. Now the good part, he said that based on my blood work he expected that all the damaged area would easily repair itself and that new bone should grow in quickly.

He warned had I been vegetarian or vegan this would not have been the case. I am now using a small but bright flashlight when I walk at night so that I dont have any more nasty accidents.

Sorry about your accident, Cassandra.  As we get older, falls are nothing to be trifled with.  I’m glad to read you’re doing better, though.
