I’m retired, but if I had a traditional office job, I’d opt for a knee-length dress or skirt, or a pantsuit, with medium closed-toe pumps.

I am lucky to have nice legs, TestDummyC: but I understand where you’re coming from. Having unattractive legs really gets you down. My sister has awful “stains” on her legs. Consequently she cannot wear skirts. She has been to the hospital for a biopsy, but is still waiting for the results.
Anyhow, looking smart doesn’t mean having to wear skirts, thankfully.
